I was looking
through some site and came across some statistics about this cancer at cancer.gov. It basically says that it’s hard to detect in everyone, black males seem
to get it more (but not much more) than white males. Black females get it almost
at the same percentage as white males. But it does not discriminate; all ethnicity's can be affected by this horrible disease and they pretty much all experience the same outcomes.
All across the board the rate of
survival is the same and it has almost everything to do with the fact that it
is rarely detected early. This chart shows the survival rate based on the stage in which the cancer is detected. (it comes from the cancer.gov site)
When it is detected early it’s usually because there
was something else going on that led the provider to start extra testing.
Please view cancer.gov to learn more about the statistics of this cancer as it might pertain to you. The chart was taken directly from that site.
